NEON

Neon was an idea which formulated after seeing Super Mario Odyssey being played by my brother. The way that the challenges are drip fed to the player (starting off simple and then adding to the challenge) was something I wanted to have a go at creating myself.

I wanted to create a simple looking yet vibrant world for Neon which saw me taking huge inspiration from Tron and also Neon Tokyo themes. Due to the vibrancy of the environment I made a conscious decision to ensure that the parts of the level the player can interact with were easily discernible against the backdrop props. 

I also wanted to include a ledge climbing system as this was something I had never done before. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



I took inspiration from games such as Super Mario Odyssey, Assassin's Creed and Crackdown (the latter two in terms of ledge climbing and jumping). 

Neon was built using Unreal Engine 4.18 blueprinting and Cinema 4D.
